Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater is a hauntingly beautiful meditation on the suffering of a mother—Mary, the mother of Jesus—as she witnesses her son's agonizing death. Two vocalists and eight dancers explore themes of grief, empathy and acceptance.
A long cloth which echoes Mary's iconic veil is transformed again and again in the hands of those trying to understand her experience.
